Economic Policymaking in the Digital Age

The program is suitable for managers, consultants, officials (e.g., public sector thematic leaders), and master’s students who already hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of education.

The lecturers are experienced staff members from the University of Tartu and practitioners from various companies in Estonia.

A graduate of the Microdegree program will:

• Understand the impact of technological development on public sector management and economic policy formulation.
• Be able to identify the potential applications of technology for solving complex problems in specific public sector areas.
• Have an overview of the various challenges and risks associated with digital solutions.
• Be capable of assessing the cost of investments in digital technologies.
• Establish connections with technology companies and researchers from other fields (medicine, IT, robotics, environment).

The prerequisite for starting the studies is a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of education. The microdegree program is conducted in Estonian, but a B2 level proficiency in English is required as some of the study materials are in English. Enrollment in the program is based on a motivation letter.

Admission is based on: 1) a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of education, and 2) the submission of a motivation letter.
