{"id":7074,"date":"2025-01-20T11:37:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-20T09:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deltaschool.ut.ee\/?p=7074"},"modified":"2025-01-20T11:41:26","modified_gmt":"2025-01-20T09:41:26","slug":"double-degree","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deltaschool.ut.ee\/en\/news\/double-degree\/","title":{"rendered":"Double Degree programme with Ghent University"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The School of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Tartu has created two Master\u2019s programmes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deltaschool.ut.ee\/en\/programmes\/itm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Innovation and Technology Management<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deltaschool.ut.ee\/en\/programmes\/qe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Quantitative Economics<\/span><\/a>, together with Ghent University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can receive<strong>&nbsp;two diplomas by spending your second year at Ghent University (Belgium).&nbsp;When studying Innovation and Technology Management or Quantitative Economics, you will have the opportunity to decide<\/strong> whether you want to study two years at the University of Tartu or&nbsp;split your studies between Estonia and Belgium (1 year at the University of Tartu and 2nd year at the University of Ghent).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The double degree programme offers students several compelling advantages. First, the students can obtain two diplomas from the University of Tartu and Ghent University within two years of study. Second, they have the unique opportunity to split their studies between Estonia and Belgium. Third, the students benefit from international experience, studying alongside peers from Ghent University, attending lectures by professors at both institutions and receiving dual guidance on their master\u2019s theses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-innovation-and-technology-management\"><strong>Innovation and Technology Management<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An interdisciplinary programme combines&nbsp;<strong>management, innovation, digitalisation and IT.&nbsp;<\/strong>Master\u2019s programme will have double degree tracks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master of Arts in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deltaschool.ut.ee\/en\/programmes\/itm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Innovation and Technology Management<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(University of Tartu).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Master of Science in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugent.be\/eb\/en\/study-programmes\/master-in-business-engineering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Business Engineering<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(Ghent University)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Master of Science in Business Engineering is a programme in business administration that focuses on (data-driven) management science, business processes and technology. These three disciplines are taught throughout the two-year master programme in different manners through theoretical lectures, practical case studies and business games, as well as guest speakers and company projects. The master&#8217;s programme teaches these disciplines both in a theoretical and practice-oriented way. Students can specialise and choose one of three main subjects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugent.be\/eb\/en\/study-programmes\/master-in-business-engineering\/data-analytics.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Data Analytics<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugent.be\/eb\/en\/study-programmes\/master-in-business-engineering\/finance.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Finance<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ugent.be\/eb\/en\/study-programmes\/master-in-business-engineering\/operations-management.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Operations Management<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-quantitative-economics\"><strong>Quantitative Economics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Develop your analytical skills and quantitative methods (mathematical and statistical) in economics and data analysis. Master\u2019s programme will have double degree tracks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Master of Arts in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deltaschool.ut.ee\/en\/programmes\/qe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Quantitative Economics<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(University of Tartu)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Master of Science in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/studiekiezer.ugent.be\/2024\/master-of-science-in-economics-FMEECO-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Economics<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(Ghent University)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The double degree program in economics is a standard economics program, where students are studying in the 1st year of the master&#8217;s studies at their home University, studying the core microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics course courses, and the 2nd year in the host university (e.g. Tartu students in Ghent). Tartu students going to Ghent can choose between\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/studiekiezer.ugent.be\/2024\/master-of-science-in-economics-FMEECO-en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">two majors<\/span><\/a>, financial institutions and markets and economic policy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Ghent is one of the largest universities in Belgium, with more than 38,000 students. Ghent University (est. 1817) is one of the major universities in Belgium and belongs to the top 100 in the ranking of world universities.
