Tartu Ülikool ja Eesti Vabariik allkirjastasid 11.12.2019 lepingu, mille kohaselt õpetab ülikool koostöös koolidega 2022. aasta kevadeks programmeerimist vähemalt 500 noorele üle Eesti.
Programmeerimist õpetatakse läbi e-kursuse “Tehnoloogia tarbijast tehnoloogiia loojaks“ (vt https://didaktika.cs.ut.ee/progttl/), mille sihtrühmaks on 16-26-aastased noored, kel kokkupuude programmeerimisega puudub või on vähene.
